These illustrations are the outcome of a grand adventure I went on with staff from Nella Media Group. We spent a day following local forager, La’au Castro as he foraged on land and at sea in Makua. He taught us how to forage, fish and eat sustainably using mostly found ingredients, whatever nature provided that day. The result was a heartfelt story written by Rae Sojot, compete with illustrations to capture the experience.Printed in NMG’s Hale magazine 11.
